Mas Fotos

On Wednesday we went to a small town called Tezpotlan, which is a indigenous nahuatl SP? community. Wednesday is market day in town, so we visited the market, as well as a museum and a beautiful dominican church. While we were standing outside the church we heard a group of mariachis in the distance, who were escorting a family of a little girl who had turned 3. I guess it is a big deal to turn 3 in Mexico, and you dress up the little girl and have a mass and a party and everything. Luckily for us, we were there to witness the procession, and I got some beautiful photos! Here you will see photos of the market and of the procession.

Thursday I went into the city to bum around a bit, and later all of us girls who live together, plus our senora, went to a taco place in town. The tacos were only 50 cents each, and delicious! Saturday its off to see the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo homes and museum. I have been waiting for this...cant wait!

I am a little sad to not be home for the 4th of July...you never realize how much those fireworks mean to you until you cant see them one year. Some of the girls I live with and I are going back to the beautiful restaurant, Las Mananitas for a margarita tonight. Hope all is well at home, and please continue to write me...it is so exciting to get mail!

Once again it sounds like you're having a great time and experiencing some woderful adventures. I can't wait to hear about the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo homes. I know how much you were looking forward to that. We'll have to plan on going to the city when you get home so you can see some fireworks. Every time I see them I always think of how we often went to grandma & grandpa's for grandpa's birthday and a family reunion, and had our own fireworks show on the river.
Miss you, be safe.
