Llueve y Escuela

Yesterday some of us went down to the zocalo or main square of town. Because it was Sunday all the families were out and enjoying their afternoon. We caught the very end of the Spain v. Germany Europe Cup game...you all know who I was rooting for, and they won!!! We also found a mercado and watched as people danced, ate from the street vendors, and laughed at the clowns performing...until....a HUGE storm rolled in and it began to rain cats and dogs! We took shelter under a covered walkway but still got a little wet from the strong winds. Thats how the rainy season goes in Cuernavaca!

Today is Monday, the first day of classes, which went well. After classes we went to a public school to visit with the school children and sit in on some of their classes...it was an incredible experience! They all wanted our signatures and for us to take their picture...I even had a few little girls that were like my entourage for the day! It was incredible. Then the director of the school allowed us a little q & a time, which was also interesting. Now its off to lunch, and who knows what else for the afternoon. I think I may have a bit of Montezumas Revenge, so I will probably lay low. =0

I cant quite figure out how to upload my pictures, but if I do I will post them. The pics of the school children are especially precious! Hasta luego!

HOLA from Mexico!

I just arrived to cuernavaca after a LONG day of travel. I am currently at the language school waiting for my family to come and meet me! I met several very nice Mexicanos on the bus ride here. They were all so helpful and kind! Well, not much to write so far, but just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you know that I am here and well! Hasta pronto.

Voy a Mexico...

Hello everyone!

I am traveling to Cuernavaca, Mexico on a scholarship to study for two weeks at Cemanahuac Educational Community. I will be living with a host family, exploring Cuernavaca and the surrounding area, and of course, SPEAKING SPANISH!

I hope to update the blog as often as possible so you guys can keep up with me while I'm in Mexico. You can even reply to my blogs if you want (HINT, HINT!)

Hasta Pronto!
